Beginning Sewing for Kids (ages 9-14)

Designed for kids ages 9 to 14, this class introduces kids to the joy of sewing in a fun and encouraging environment. Students will learn sewing machine basics, safety, and simple techniques such as stitching straight lines and finishing seams. With plenty of hands-on practice and guidance, each child will complete a few small projects they can proudly take home. It’s the perfect way to build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of sewing!

| Materials Included: | A sewing machine with speed slide, thread and use of some tools is provided. |
| Requirements: | A supply list will be provided prior to the course for each week. Approximately $35 in materials will be needed to complete all projects. You’ll receive 20% off all materials for these projects when you purchase them in the shop. |

| Instructor Bio: | Diane Swanson is a recent addition to the wonderful community of Columbia. She began quilting in the late '90s and has been passionate about creating all kinds of quilts ever since. With a background as an elementary school teacher, Diane loves combining her two greatest passions, teaching and sewing, to help others grow their skills and creativity. |
