Dresden Plate Applique on a shirt
Take your love of quilting beyond the quilt and into your closet. In this class, we will create a beautiful Dresden plate and appliqué it onto a shirt for a unique, wearable project.
You will learn how to piece a Dresden plate, prepare it for appliqué, and securely attach it to knit or woven fabric. We will cover placement, stabilization, and stitching techniques to help your design lay flat and hold up to wearing and washing. This class is perfect for confident beginners and up, and a great way to explore appliqué in a practical, creative way.
By the end of class, you will leave with a finished or nearly finished shirt and the skills to add appliqué to other garments in the future.

| Skill Details: | Student should be familiar with accurate piecing and pressing, and sewing a straight line. |
| Materials Included: | Dresden plate ruler, Heate & Bond. |
| Requirements: | Please bring your sewing machine, and everything to make it work, thread of your choice with a full bobbin, a cutting mat, rotary cutter, and standard sewing accessories. You will need a 1/4" foot, and an open toe foot for this project. You will need a sweatshirt or t-shirt of your choice, and twenty 5" squares. The optional charm pack is the one used in the sample sweatshirt (which makes two shirts!) |

She is especially passionate about creating t-shirt quilts and loves exploring new projects and techniques that push her creativity. Amy enjoys sharing her knowledge in a relaxed, encouraging way that helps students feel confident and inspired. When she is not sewing, Amy loves spending time with her family and cheering on her daughter at dance competitions. |
