So, you’re ready to turn those shirts that have been sitting in your closet into a quilt? Great! A t-shirt quilt is a wonderful way to bring those memories to life and also make a wonderful gift.
What is a quilt?
A quilt has three layers – the top layer is several pieces of fabric sewn together, the middle layer is a batting for warmth, and the back; the quilt is held together by stitching all over (the quilting). A blanket has one or two layers and is not held together with anything. There is a significant difference in the complexity, skill necessary, tools required, and time to create a quilt, and this greatly affects the cost.
